I spent 36 years working for Algoma Steel, an integrated steel company, in Canada. During the course of my career I had the opportunity to work in many areas of the corporation. I spent time as a Department Engineer, worked as shift supervisor in Ironmaking, moved on to day supervisor in the Cold mill. I was also given the opportunity to be a key member in the startup of the Direct Strip Production complex, a state-of-the-art rolling complex. From there I moved on to become Superintendent to the Plate and Strip Finishing complex and completed my career as Superintendent of the Cold Mill. This breadth of my experience has given me an in-depth knowledge of the steelmaking process. I have now moved on to become a Sales Consultant for National Supply.
Honors Degree Business Administration Certified Machinist/Fitter Sales Consultant
I retired from Algoma Steel after a 35-year career in the Steel Manufacturing Sector. During my career, I held positions in Primary, Maintenance, Product Control and Procurement. During my last five years, I was the Manager of Procurement. As a Machinist/Fitter, I gained a wealth of practical knowledge while disassembling, machining and assembling large pieces of production equipment tailored to the steel industry.
